Best Ever!
You can't beat the grinders here. We buy them and bring them back to Vermont every chance we get. We just love them. Service is great also.

Franklin Giant Grinders
My first time trying the grinders! I have had sub sandwiches, but nothing like the grinder. My husband lived here for 30 years and when I meet him he was always talking about getting a grinder to take to work. It took 8 years to get to Connecticut to try the grinder. I will be taking grinders back home to Georgia! The best!

Fast service, great food
We ordered grinders to go. The service was fast and the servers were friendly. Generous loaded sandwiches. We'd definitely recommend this place to friends.

Not Good
This Giant Grinder Shop ain't what it use to be. In the 60's this was the King on Franklin Ave in Hartford, where i lived just up the street. Now,it's run down, dirty and no one gives a crap about the food or the customers. The Italian, old ladies, use to make the food and the grinders. Now, the grinder makers don't even speak English or Italian. Way Over priced and not good at all. Dirty, the help doesn't like people, neither does the owner. Time to close the doors on this dump. Sorry but true.

Best Meatball grinders. But the best chicken cutlet grinders are at Wethersfield Pizza House "home of the chicken cutlet" Frannklin needs a overhaul

we used to go on saturdays while in high school; our memories are of the best and still unparalled grinders - now living in florida we sure miss our tuna, ham, eggplant grinders down here

Filthy place..major attitudes
I'm Italian..I live on Franklin Ave. all my life, still do..I've eaten at Franklin Giant thousands of times..the place has gone completely downhill..the slow crappy service..the arguing amongst each other..the profanity used both out front and by the owner and others in the rear..the badmouthing about other customers and work conditions..your food will come out and will sit on the counter until you say something..one girl making a sandwich with no gloves, handling money, and going right back to laying tomatoes..walking by letting her shirt rub on the sandwich..etc, etc..the overweight female employee who I believe is the owners daughter is the number one problem..just watch how she relates to her father (I think) and he just allows it..just look at the disgusting floor coming in the place..they need a complete overhaul, starting with new management and serious clean non-related employees..and a good cleaning every night..anyone who has gone there recently can see and feel it going in..dont be fooled by the big grinders, Wethersfield grinders has huge grinders with cheerful owners/employees..this place has followed the same downward spiral of the neighborhood..I think I'm done.

Outstanding!!!
My whole family was born in Hartford and I have been enjoying Franklin's meatball grinders for 40 years. My grandparents used to live in an apartment above the shop. We moved to NJ when we were kids, but never missed to a trip to Franklin Grinder when we were up to visit relatives. I have traveled to almost every State and there simply isn't another meatball grinder like it anywhere. I live outside DC now and just look for excuses to get to Hartford, but with no relatives left in the area, it's tough. I hope they never close!

Best Grinder Period
I have been going to FGG for as long as I can remember. At least 40 years and the amazing thing is that there has been no compromise in quality or quantity for that entire period. Simply put it is the best Grinder on the planet.

No one else knows what Grinder means
When I tell people in NYC that this place Franklin Giant Grinder in Hartford makes the best Chicken Cutlet Sandwich you can get they ask me, "Whats a Grinder". Needless to say Franklin gives you the best/most food in the tr-state area, one GRINDER, easily lasts 2 lunches.

Chicken
I was there Wednesday for lunch. I had the chicken cutlet and it was great as usual. I live in the western hills and still make it there once a month. I have been going there for almost 40 years. ECB

The Best
I live 30 minutes from Hartford. Whenever I get the chance, I go to Franklin giant grinder. They by far have the best grinders. In fact, I will be in the area today and stopping by for chicken cutlet and meatball grinders.

GIANT and Good!
The chicken cutlet grinder is amazing, even if it does require 2 hours on the treadmill to offset the calorie content. Worth it!

Chicken Cutlets
If you ever had a chicken cutlet and it wasn't from Franklin Giant Grinder, then you really haven't had a chicken cutlet. It is the best and I use to live in Milwaukee where they make chicken subs but they don't compare to the chicken cutlet at Franklin Giant Grinder. Best I ever had.

Franklin Giant Grinder
A Hartford staple! The best grinder on the East coast. Philly has their cheesesteaks we have Franklin Giant. A whole grinder is enough for three people! I've had sandwiches all over the country and whether submarine, hoagie or cheesesteak, Hartford has the best!

Great Italian Food
My husband and I love Franklin Giant Grinder's food. Their marinara sauce is wonderful. Their chicken cutlet grinders are to die for and their ravioli is wonderful as well. I wish they had a location in Vernon, CT
