I used to like this place but its been getting progressively worse over the years. The chicken is dry the lomein is bland. Their teriyaki chicken has gone from the good flavorful grilled kind to basically just being an overly fried chicken strip on a stick with no teriyaki taste. I cant find a single place around that does the good teriyaki chicken any more. Their teriyaki beef improved over the last time i ordered but as with the past 3 orders im just left with regret for the money spent on such low quality food. I think I have to give up on chinese food altogether being in the area im at.

It's an amazing act when you question you bill , we ordered two beef terriakis and a small chicken low mein and crab region, according to the menu it came to 19.80 plus tax and we asked about the total and suddenly no one spoke the language , a self imposed tip for lousy service was not a menu item, they took the order well, but suddenly no one understood our question of the amount of 24.80. I enjoy leaving a tip when the waitress does her job we only seen her once she didn't even bring the food to us it was a kitchen help that brought it out after 37 minutes. Won't return to their establishment , it's takes a thief !!!!

Best Chinese food!
This is the best chinese food in the area. It may be americanized with the bar, but its a personal favorite for almost anyone from the area. Cheap, but still has large portions.

Language barrier is "convenient"
We order takeout all the time and the food is always great. Best Chinese food in the area. However, if you choose to dine in the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. My niece ordered a pina-colada and the pineapple juice was rancid. The server did not understand us and still charged us for the bad drink. We asked to speak to a manager and she said "no understand what you want" really?? All we wanted was to not be charged for the drink. After we ordered our food, The waitress, who was a teenager, was sitting on the floor against the wall texting on her cell phone and never asked us how the food was. She simply dropped the food off at our table and never returned. We had to get up and ask her for the check. Apparently English isn't well spoken enough to understand when there is a request for a refund!!!!!

Hong Kong Hoooouse!
I love it, they never disappoint. They give generous portions and use high quality ingredients. I can't believe someone made a stupid comment about "Chinese" accents. Why?. People are here to help others like me who moved to the area get their money's worth when it comes to food. My favorite dishes are the Teriaki chicken meal make sure you ask for it as a dinner with onions or you get the ones on sticks, general tsou's chicken, fried chicken ( big juicy wings, tasty batter), and steamed dumplings. Please give this wonderful resteraunt a try very few Chinese resteraunts provide resteraunt quality food like Hong Kong House, while giving sizable portions. Keep the jokes and racism off the page and for those who think their funny see a therapist and get a life!.

my fav place
I go there every Tuesday. The food is the best I've had this side of the river. The staff are very friendly. The drinks are good and cheap. Can't go wrong with $5 Mai tais and scorpion bowls. When I'm not there I crave their food. By far my fav place to go to
maybe "u shoulda stop bein' da as-hole, u no my boi" . They may not speak fluent English but they are very friendly people, and their English is well spoken enough for people to understand.

my family orders there every week, and we love it. it does have some times when it takes longer than usual to get our food, but most likely is because we order during their busy hours, but no matter what, the food is worth the wait. my family does dine there sometimes and it is great. they got pool tables, a bar and a jukebox. there is only one thing about it and it is that only one of the people there speaks fluent english; his name is jimmy, but he only works weekends, but ask for him when you need help with ordering.

Anonymously Disappointed.
Food was absolutely terrible!! It tasted as if it was microwaved and was soggy (chicken fingers, rangoons, and rice). Originally told it would take 30 minutes to be delivered. At 1 hour I called and they said they "just left" he showed up 20 minutes later.... a total time of one hour and twenty minutes! Driver showed up saying he had no change and would have to leave and go to the convenience store down the street so that he could break the $20.00. Terrible food! Terrible service!

We go there every wednsday, they cater to us whatever we want they get. The food is great the drinks are strong and cheap and they have jukebox and pool tables for adults to have fun and play pool.

fyi the crab rangoon is just terrible... but the general tso's is amazing... which is all that really matters right?
side note: make sure you order the general without rice because the rice is nothing special and you get way more chicken.

I live in South Windsor and I am glad we have a choice of chinese food here.. I do like Hong Kong House.. The food is always hot and prepared just right the way you order it.. I highly recomend it. It is the best in South Windsor!

My family has lived in South Windsor for 12 years and this is the best chinese food around. We appreciate their continued good service and accuracy with our orders. We occassionally dine in the restaurant and are amazed more people do not go here. Give it a try, you will like it too.
